About R&V Service

R&V Service is located in Mayer, MN (West of the Twin Cites and in Carver County) and has been in Mayer since March 1st, 1961. R&V has 24 Hr Towing & Recovery, as well as Complete Auto Repair.

Ray Eckstrom and Vince Stifter worked together in Watertown until R&V Service was established on March 1st, 1961 by Ray and Vince. At that time R&V sold fuel and did auto repair at the present Agave Mexican Restaurant. They stopped selling fuel in the 70's when there was a shortage. About two years after R&V was started, R&V Service started Towing as well as repairs. They have towing for Carver County and Minnesota State Patrol as well as private towing for everyone. Vince Stifter bought the shop from Ray Eckstrom when Ray retired in 1977. In 1978 Vince built a new shop, which is the current location of R&V. R&V has been located in Mayer for over 60 Years.
In 1997 R&V was bought by Vince's son Tom Stifter. Tom ran R&V Service from 1997 to 2023, where his son, Zachary Stifter, bought the family business in January of 2023. Zachary and his wife are excited to continue on serving their customers.
